Three Classic State Songs + Two Awesome Ringtones
BULLDOG BLITZ and THE DAWGPOUND ROCK plus MY MISSISSIPPI HOME

Now digitally re-mastered for crystal clear digital sound quality!

First released in 1980 (Just before State's famous 6-3 victory over Alabama), "Bulldog Blitz" is now regarded as a Mississippi State classic. The recording has lost none of its magic and excitement over the years. It still rocks! In fact, it's been digitally re-mastered, so now it sounds better than ever!

Thousands of 45 rpm records were sold in the following years and the song was performed countless times at the Davis Wade and Veterans Memorial Stadiums. 20 years later, the song's writer, producer, and singer--Steve Acker--struck a nerve again with "The Dawgpound Rock," co-written and sung by Jackson's own Derrick Martin. More than 6,000 Bulldogs fans bought The Dawgpound Rock CD, which included the first re-release of Bulldog Blitz.

Now, for the first time ever, these songs along with ringtones of each song that every fan will love, are available exclusively at The Rogue in Jackson, Mississippi. (MP3 download also available below).

The perfect stocking stuffer and the perfect soundtrack for the Music City Bowl!

Steven "Ace" Acker has been making music and hits since his teens in Warren, Ohio. He co-founded the band LAW in 1971, which was discovered and signed to MCA Records in 1975 by The Who. LAW toured throughout the decade with The Who, Bob Segar, Boston, Bad Company, and nearly every other major rock act of the era.

In 1978, Steve left the band and moved to Jackson, Mississippi, where his father was running the Packard Electric/GM plants. Two years later he scored a regional hit 45 rpm record with "Bulldog Blitz" for Mississippi State University. He joined Godwin Advertising in 1982, where he composed many popular jingles and ad campaigns (Northpark Mall, Mr. Transmission, Mississippi Valley Gas, Piccadilly Cafeterias, etc etc). He left Jackson in 1985 after graduating from Mississippi College to work as a creative director for a Nashville advertising agency, where he remained for 14 years. During this period his work earned numerous national creative awards. He created an adult education program for Dollar General Stores in 1987 that earned a Special Presidential Award from President Ronald Reagan and has, to date, resulted in 1.5 million Dollar General customer earning their GED Certificates or learning to read.

In 1999 Steve returned to Jackson and promptly produced hit CD's for both Mississippi State ("The Dawgpound Rock") and Ole Miss ("The Rebels are Rolling" with The Bluz Boys). After scoring a song production deal in New York, Steve left Mississippi again in early 2009 and spent two years in his native Ohio and again in Nashville.

Steve is now available to perform his vast repertoire of originals, blues, and classic hits solo for clubs, parties, and special events across the Southeast.
